Frequently Asked Questions

How can I become a member?

Firstly, complete the Register of Interest form and select that your organisation is interested in becoming a member. We will then send you a Full Membership Application form, in which we will ask for some further information in order to confirm your membership.

Who is eligible to become a member?

Any nonprofit organisation based or active in Trafford is eligible for membership. That includes voluntary groups, charities, social enterprises, faith-based organisations, co-operatives and more!

What will I receive as a member?

We are expecting that as membership increases, the Collective will be a key strategic voice for the sector which will lead to a number of benefits:

  • Opportunities to develop and deliver joined up services at a local  level
  • Improved and consistent access to capacity building support, advice, and information.
  • Increasing recognition of the number and strength of VCFSE organisations in Trafford.
  • Increased quantity and quality of local volunteering through the development of a strategic approach.
  • Improved recruitment and retention of staff through the development of career pathways.
  • Reduced costs due to the introduction of placed-based commissioning.
  • Opportunities to work in partnership with other VCFSE providers at a local level.
  • Opportunity to share good practice and learning opportunities based on an ethos of mutual support.
  • Increased access to funding.
  • Improved management information and scope for sharing this at a local level.
  • Improved strategic relationships with service commissioners and strategic policy leads and opportunities to influence service development and delivery.
Can I get involved if I am not a representative from a voluntary organisation?

Yes, while only nonprofit organisations can become members, anyone can register their interest via the online form and become a wider supporter of the Collective.
